Language In Our Lives is a blog where I can write about the words I hear being used – on the street, by coworkers, on the news, by world leaders, and baristas and ice-cream servers –  and what we really mean.

That always becomes a topic of conversation. What do you mean when you say something? I enjoy exploring our definitions, and my own, so we can all have a more informed opinion.

I’ve read more books on American history than there books in the old and new testaments (true). So I feel that my opinions on Americana are pretty well based in this nation’s history and culture.

If there are inconsistencies in my opinions, and there will be, please look at context for an explanation. And besides, change can be good.
